I used to feel defeated and overwhelmed when I thought of a big goal. So much so that it deterred me from ever starting on the goal.
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by a project, that your mind didn't want to do it?
Our minds can get into irrational thinking when we compound everything we need to accomplish into this monumental list of lists.
I recently tried to feed our pup Georgia (she's a Shorkie - A Shih Tzu mixed with a Yorkie) a large dog bone (similar to a Milk Bone). She looked at it for a few seconds and then walked away. I then broke it down into 3 bite-sized pieces and guess what happened?
Right! She ate them all. It seemed like she could accomplish this task of eating this treat now that it was in smaller pieces.
I thought about life and how we work very much the same way.
When we feel overwhelmed by a project or goal, let's try to break them down into smaller tasks. Maybe it's simply one thing we need to do to make progress each day.
That way, our minds can simplify it making our brains more receptive to completing the task or goal.
Taking small actions towards something can add up to big results over time. If we were to do one task towards a goal for one year, that's 365 things that would most certainly get you closer to your goal.
Just like soft, flowing water hitting the rocks every day. Soon enough, they carve mountains.
That's what you can do too.
Here's another resource about what to do when you feel overwhelmed.

You are worth it!
This is the best advice I've ever heard when feeling overwhelmed from an inspiring life coach in Jacksonville Florida. Advice for business professionals and dog owners alike! Your new dog seems to understand to break things down when overwhelmed with a big task. And she didn't procrastinate at all LOL. I would love to see a photo of your puppy eyeing a large milk bone. It would make me smile on what has turned into a difficult overwhelming day :) Thanks for posting!
